Rail

Amtrak (Northeast Regional, Acela) – Fastest way from NYC (2.5-3 hrs) and Boston (30-40 min).
MBTA Commuter Rail (Providence Line) – Budget option from Boston (~1 hr).
Providence Station is a short walk to downtown.

Bus

Intercity: Greyhound, Peter Pan, Megabus serve NYC, Boston, and more. Most buses arrive at Kennedy Plaza downtown.
Local: RIPTA buses serve the city, with the R-Line offering rapid transit. A free downtown shuttle runs frequently.

Air

T.F. Green Airport (PVD) (10 miles from downtown)
- MBTA train (15 min to Providence).
- RIPTA buses (#1, #20) (30-35 min).
- Uber/Lyft (~$20-30).
Boston Logan (BOS) is another option—take the MBTA train or intercity bus.

Car

Plan to park at your accommodations and travel by foot throughout the conference as parking downtown is very limited.

Additional Transportation Help for Those with Mobility Needs: Strong Towns will aim to provide a limited number of buses between our event venues throughout the day on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11. There is space to indicate your needs for this on the ticket registration form. We will communicate with attendees further about this option.
