Josie Faass is the Executive Director of the Progress and Poverty Institute, a private operating foundation located in Princeton, NJ, that works toward economic equity through the collection and sharing of natural resource rents. Josie holds a Ph.D. in public policy and urban planning from Rutgers University’s Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, where she also teaches graduate courses as an adjunct professor. Her current areas of research focus include property taxation (with a focus on Land Value Taxation), climate adaptation and migration, and contaminated site remediation. Josie’s work has been featured in a variety of publications, including Shelterforce Weekly, Ecological Restoration, Health Promotion Practice, and Forbes, and she appeared in the Wall Street Journal explainer video, “The Invisible Role Taxes Play in America’s Housing Shortage.”
